“On December 5, 2025, I experienced a moment of profound emotion at the Embassy of Romania in Canberra, during the official reception dedicated to Romania’s National Day. In front of representatives of the Australian government, the diplomatic corps, and guests from the cultural sphere, I was nominated by His Excellency Radu Gabriel Safta, Ambassador of Romania to Australia, as Person of Honour, for my literary activity and for my contribution to the promotion of Romanian Culture and Literature in Australia.
I also share this recognition with writer Smaranda Kafka and Consul Ciprian Popescu, who were likewise nominated for their valuable contributions to Romanian and Australian culture and community, as well as Mr. Patrick De Dekker, author of The Belgica Expedition, and Mark Radford, CEO of the Queensland Eye Institute.

“This nomination holds a special value for me, as a Romanian writer living abroad. Through the books I have written, the articles published in the magazine Emoții și Lumina, my work at ProDiaspora Radio, and cultural projects, I have sought to carry forward the voice of Romanian literature and connect it with the Australian and global cultural space. I firmly believe that literature is a bridge of identity: it ties us to our origins, brings us together, and creates dialogue and understanding. I am honored that this work has been acknowledged by His Excellency Radu Gabriel Safta, Ambassador of Romania to Australia.
I thank all those who support me in my literary projects — readers, collaborators, Romanian writers, and the diaspora community. This recognition inspires me to continue with even greater dedication. Literature is the path through which our identity journeys onward.”
